The Greenwood Genetic Center Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory is seeking applications for a Director-level position to join our full-service laboratory team. Candidates should have an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD and must be ABMG Board Certified or Eligible in Clinical Molecular Genetics or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG).
The incoming Director will be responsible for assisting the current Directors in providing technical oversight of various laboratory functions including report writing, test/procedure validations, overseeing compliance with external regulatory requirements, and external and internal proficiency testing. Responsibilities may also include training and competency assessment, continuing education, technical staff guidance and consultation, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures/policies, and assisting in troubleshooting technical issues as necessary.
The GGC Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory is a state-of-the-art unit offering diagnostic services, including Whole Genome Sequencing and other related NGS methodologies, EpiSign testing, Sanger sequencing and other traditional molecular methodologies. Additional experience with array-based and optical genome mapping (OGM) testing is also desirable. It is also noted that involvement in advancing new technologies and related innovation is an important aspect of this role.
