The Department of Pediatrics, Hasbro Children’s, Brown University Health and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University is seeking a clinical geneticist in a Clinician Educator track at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Potential applicants should hold an M.D. degree and have board certification or board eligibility in Clinical Genetics. Certification/interest in biochemical, or molecular genetics is desirable. Candidates must qualify for appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor academic rank at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Candidates for this position should have strong clinical and academic skills, including education of trainees at many levels and a publication record that reflects scholarly activity since completion of training. The successful candidate will assume clinical, academic, and administrative responsibilities and provide clinical care and teaching to the first year Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University medical students and residents at Hasbro Children’s, Rhode Island Hospital and Women & Infants Hospital of RI. This position consists of clinical time (inpatient consults and outpatient care) as well as expectation for teaching and other scholarly activities.
The current division of Human Genetics has 1 clinical geneticist, 1 clinical biochemical geneticist, 6 genetic counselors, metabolic dieticians and nurse coordinator. The division has close ties to the Rhode Island Department of Health Newborn Screening Program. Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Rhode Island (or must be licensed in another jurisdiction and be eligible for licensure in Rhode Island).
