The Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is recruiting a full-time Assistant Laboratory Director for its Cytogenetics Laboratory. Applicants must hold an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD and be board-certified or eligible in Clinical Cytogenetics/Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. The position involves the co-direction of a comprehensive cytogenetics laboratory including chromosome analysis, FISH, and chromosomal microarray on neoplastic and constitutional specimens. Continuous development and implementation of new cytogenetic tests and technology platforms will be an important component of this position.
The Department of Pathology at BIDMC is in the process undertaking major expansion in Genetics Diagnostics, Digital Pathology, and Computational Pathology. In addition, this position will be connected in the future to the proposed Dana-Farber Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Collaboration pending regulatory approval.
In addition to clinical and administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to be active in pathology resident and fellow training as well as to develop a strong program in basic, applied, or translational research.
The candidate will be appointed to the full-time faculty of Harvard Medical School at an academic rank commensurate with experience.
