On behalf of the Pediatric Service Group, LLP located at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, and Section Chief of Pediatric Genetics, Joan Pellegrino MD, CareerPhysician, LLC, the leader in pediatric physician executive search, is pleased to inform you of the inception of a national search for a full-time faculty position in their well-established, nationally respected, Section of Medical Genetics. The clinical practice associated with this position will be based at the Center for Development, Behavior and Genetics located on their downtown campus.

Report to the Chief of the Section of Medical Genetics, teach medical students and residents pursuant to clinical activity, serve on departmental and institutional committees and task forces as requested, participate in scholarly projects, and participate in faculty development activities.
The chosen geneticist will have opportunities to grow within the field and pursue niche interests with the mentorship of two senior faculty. Clinics schedule will be flexible with the opportunity to work 3 ½ or 4 days each week with a minimum of one day dedicated to administrative time and a very reasonable patient load of 22 total each week.

All faculty will have the opportunity to teach both residents and students with multiple opportunities to teach depending on the faculty’s interests and expertise. SUNY Upstate and the Department of Pediatrics is prepared ro support scholarly activity and offers resources for case reports, QI projects, and funded research endeavors.
Upstate offers pathology and cytogenetic labs, including microarray and FISH. In addition, resources include a molecular lab that offers Fragile X DNA testing and DNA panels. Upstate is pursuing credentials to complete Whole Genome Sequencing and Whole Exome Sequencing in-house.
The compensation package will include: 1) Aggressive base salary guarantee at 65tH percentile or the ACMG survey 2) Sign-on bonus 3) relocation assistant 4) resident/fellow stipend offered to future graduates
Applicants must have an active NY State license or be eligible and must be Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Medical Genetics. J1 and H1b visa support is available.
