This is a clinical position that will focus on care to patients with a primary role in general oputpatient clinical genetics (dysmorphology) and a small amount of coverage of metabolic disorders (inpatient only, with back up from a certified biochemical geneticist, if desired). The individual will work collaboratively with other faculty and team members. The successful candidate will join ten clinical geneticists, eleven genetic counselors, and administrative staff in a thriving academic medical center including regional satellite clinics. Reasonable administrative and academic time will be provided.
Examples of Work Performed
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide professional clinical services to outpatient and inpatient patients with known or suspected genetic disorders and inborn errors of metabolism. 2. Share on-call/inpatient coverage responsibilities with the other genetics faculty (currently about one week out of eight). 3. Participate in the education of genetic residents, medical students, pediatric residents, and genetic counseling students.
