Job Title: Laboratory Director
Reports To: Chief Medical Officer

Job Summary:
This is a leadership opportunity for a Board-certified Clinical Molecular Lab Director to play a central role in day-to-day management of key areas in the clinical laboratory including the development of a sustainable genomic knowledge management infrastructure, developing diagnostic WGS based services and expanding our menu of products including diagnostic panels and pharmacogenomics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees all molecular testing, and related policies and communication of results.
• Ensures the highest standard and timely processing of result reports and appropriate handling of customer requests.
• Maintains a broad knowledge base and serves as an expert for genetic tests.
• Directs the development, implementation and delivery of new tests.
• Maintains and develops professional contacts to anticipate needs and guide marketing activities.
• Review, approve, and sign-out reports.
• Effectively manages by mentoring, coaching and developing personnel.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Must be able to relocate to work onsite.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Candidate must be Board-certified or eligible in LGG, Clinical Molecular Genetics and Genomics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) and/or American Board of Pathology with Molecular Genetic Pathology fellowship training in ACGME-accredited institution (Requires PhD, MD, or DO), and/or Board-certified or eligible as a High-complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD), in Molecular Diagnostics by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB), and New York State licensure or qualifications to obtain NYS license.
• Extensive experience in complex diagnostic molecular testing techniques, including hands-on experience with Next-Generation Sequencing assays.
• Proven experience with clinical genome sequencing or pharmacogenetics is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in clinical molecular assay design, validation, and implementation under CAP, CLIA and NYS DOH requirements.
• Experience in clinical laboratory budget development and cost management.
• Experience in lean workflow and production schedule in pre-, post, and analytical clinical laboratory operations.
• Experience in developing Quality Management Program for Clinical NGS testing.
• Experience in LIS and LIMS management for Clinical NGS testing and familiarity with integration of NGS informatics pipelines and software.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical problems.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team of scientists, physicians, lab technologists and managing a clinical lab team.
• Must have ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
