The Assistant Director is responsible for coordination of daily operations and workflow management within the Imaging Services Department, as well as oversight of the radiology and student intern programs. In conjunction with the Director and Radiologists, the Assistance Director identifies, establishes, and is responsible for gathering and reporting on quality measures that ensure compliance with Title 22, Joint Commission, other regulatory agencies, and internally established process improvement or quality initiatives. In collaboration with the Director and the Radiology Committee, the Assistant Director will develop, educate staff on, and enforce departmental policies and procedures. S/he will be a liaison with the IT Department for any PACS or information systems matters, and will interface with other internal and external customers to ensure service excellence and optimal delivery of care. The Assistant Director shall meet personal accountabilities as defined in the Tenet Target 100 standards of Service, People, Quality, Growth and Cost. Assumes the role of Director when Director is absent from facility when directed to do so and will have supervisory responsibilities related to staff selection, terminations, performance evaluations, quality improvement and progressive discipline.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of school with an AA/AS in Radiology, or equivalent.At least 5 years experience as a registered technologist in an acute care setting with experience in 2 or more modalities. Computer literacy required.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Current CRT, ARRT, CPR, Fluoroscopy, and Venipuncture certification.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak. Fluent in written and spoken English. Must have computer skills on desktop and laptop and be able to assimilate new programs. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
