The Buffalo, NY Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting a part-time Medical Technologist to evaluate, interpret, correlate, and validate the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results. Testing procedures are performed on a variety of biological specimens using manual or automated techniques and require a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision. The work performed is in a variety of laboratory disciplines, such as bacteriology, chemistry (including immunoassay and toxicology), coagulation, hematology, immunology, immunohematology (blood banking), and urinalysis. Also required to monitor quality control systems and measures and collaborate in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Overnight position (midnight to 8AM), every other weekend & every Monday. Shift, weekend & holiday pay differentials!
Completion of a medical technology clinical practice program
Certification as a MT, MLS, or CLS given by the ASCP-BOC, ASCP-BOR, or AMT.
Preferred Experience: At least one year of current experience is preferred, but not required.
