Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and/or Director facilitates sterile processing operations and personnel during specified shifts, facilitating staff and departmental efficiencies while monitoring the daily operations of the department to ensure that appropriate quality is maintained. Ensures compliance with infection control policies and AAMI, AORN, and Joint Commission standards. Acts as a liaison between the OR and SPD, facilitating all instrumentation being ready on time, supporting all customers of the department. Assures compliance with infection control and sterilization standards, ensuring that sterilization practices and all equipment used for decontamination and sterilization meet quality standards. Performs other related duties as directed

High school graduate or equivalent
Graduate of an approved Sterile Processing and/or OR Scrub Technician Course.Previous sterile processing supervisory experience preferred.
Must have current BCLS certification
Physically able to turn up to 125 pounds (can lift up to 30 pounds) using appropriate body mechanics.
