Clinical Geneticist opportunity with a Nationally Recognized Genetics Program at NorthShore University HealthSystem
The Department of Medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), the principal teaching affiliate of The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, seeks an outstanding clinical geneticist who is passionate about providing quality patient care to expand our program. This is an opportunity to work at NorthShore; an organization strongly committed to the future of genetics and personalized medicine, exhibited by our nationally recognized Center for Medical Genetics and Mark R. Neiman Center for Personalized Medicine. The Center for Medical Genetics was founded by Dr. Henry Lynch in 1997. The program focuses on adult genetics but cares for pediatric patients as well. The Center collaborates in cutting-edge genomic research, is a national leader in creating and evaluating computerized family history tools, and has a growing emphasis on incorporating genomic technologies into the clinic and the entire health system. The successful candidate will join a team of two geneticists, one hematology/oncology physician, six clinical genetic counselors, and one research genetic counselor. Academic appointment to the University of Chicago is available to qualified candidates.

Successful candidates who are board certified in a Primary Care Specialty, e.g. FM, IM, OBGYN, and be BE/BC in Clinical Genetics with a strong interest in practicing adult and pediatric genetic medicine (non-metabolic), will be considered. Candidates who anticipate completion of their clinical genetics residency program in 2020 are encouraged to apply as well.
The practice offers cancer risk assessment and genetic testing for hereditary cancer syndromes as well as evaluation and genetic testing for hereditary disorders including but not limited to cardiology, neurology, nephrology, and musculoskeletal, and management consultation for general genetic syndromes.
