The Clinical Lab Technologist will perform analyses on biological specimens, e.g. blood and urine, to aid health care providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Additionally, they will participate in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.
Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science (MLS), clinical laboratory science (CLS) or medical technology (MT) or Bachelor's plus Certificate in medical laboratory science (MLS), clinical laboratory science (CLS), or medical technology (MT), as recognized by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) is required. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. A two-year commitment to this position is required.
Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and assay systems is desirable. Must be capable of producing accurate results under time constraints, multi-tasking, and performing in a fast-paced and changing environment. Must possess good communication skills and be able to work closely with others. Must be able to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off-shifts, holiday, on-call, and weekend work assignments.
