The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics is an organization composed of biochemical, clinical, cytogenetic, medical and molecular geneticists, genetic counselors and other health care professionals committed to the practice of medical genetics. The ACMG was incorporated in 1991 to give national representation to providers of genetic services and their patients with genetic disorders and to speak for the emerging specialty of medical genetics in organizations and agencies concerned with medical service, certification, and regulatory issues. The ACMG provides education, resources, and a voice for the medical genetics profession and its’ mission is to improve health through genetics.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a great full-time opportunity to support several key membership activities for a growing association. This position reports directly to the Director of Membership Services and supports a wide range of projects related the maintenance of ACMG’s association management system including data entry, database clean-up and process improvement. In addition, this role will support membership solicitation, member outreach and engagement efforts.
Assists the Director of Membership Services with annual activities including: call for volunteers, renewal campaigns, and collection of participation agreements.
Supports Director of Membership Services by preparing and distributing mailings including: monthly membership packages and marketing materials for annual conferences.
Maintains membership database by entering membership applications, updating entries, resetting member passwords, and monitoring/removing database duplications.
Receives, organizes, and follows up with applicants, ensuring membership applications are complete.
Prepares and distributes monthly membership approval reporting for the Membership Committee and the ACMG Board.
Responds to general membership inquiries related to applications, receipts, and renewals.
Prepares monthly membership list for journal distribution.
Receives and processes requests for ACMG Mailing List rental.
Engages and assists members and meeting attendees at the ACMG annual meeting Membership booth.
Technical capabilities: Proficient in iMIS or similar Association Management System (AMS) and Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience using informz or similar email marketing solution a plus
Communication (oral and written) proficiency including proofreading
Bachelor’s degree in or equivalent in office experience
Minimum of three years office experience
Previous employment experience in a non-profit membership organization
BENEFITS AND SALARY
The hourly salary for this non-exempt, full-time position shall be commensurate with the candidate’s skill and experience. There are no benefits associated with this part-time position.
This is a largely sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see and lift small objects up to 30 lbs.
