The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Faculty responsibilities include advising students, service to the University, College of Education, Health, and Human Services, the department, and the community, and an active research agenda.
Job Description: Program Description: The Department of Social Work at Westfield State University is seeking applications for two positions to begin September, 2019: One full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position and one full-time temporary (two-year) Assistant Professor position. The MSW Program provides a clinically-focused social work education using a hybrid model. Courses are offered two nights per week, with 2/3 of content delivered online and 1/3 delivered face-to-face.
Responsibilities: Both positions will primarily teach graduate courses in the MSW Satellite Program in Worcester, Massachusetts, although there may be opportunities to teach at the BSW or MSW location in Westfield, MA. Teaching load will be 24 credits per year (12 credits per semester), additional responsibilities include: student advising; scholarship (including, where applicable, work toward a doctoral degree); and service to the university and wider community. Applicants who have the ability to teach practice at both the foundation and advanced (clinical) levels, as well as courses in Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Research, and/or Policy, are especially encouraged to apply. Requirements: Qualifications: The position requires a MSW, a minimum of two years post-masters direct practice experience, and a DSW or PhD in Social Work or a closely related social science field (ABD will be considered).
