The Manhattan and Brooklyn, NY Veterans Affairs Medical Centers are recruiting full & part-time Microbiology & General Medical Technologists to care for our Nation’s Heroes! You will develop, perform, evaluate, interpret, correlate and validate the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results. Testing is performed on a variety of biological specimens using manual or automated techniques and require a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision. Work is performed in a variety of laboratory disciplines, such as bacteriology, chemistry (including immunoassay and toxicology), coagulation, hematology, immunology, immunohematology (blood banking), and urinalysis. Manhattan campus has full & part time positions; Brooklyn is part-time only.
One-year microbiology bench experience is highly preferred. Requires bachelor’s degree and national certification (MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or MT(AMT). US citizenship required.
Microbiologist: Mon-Fri, dayshift with rotating weekend coverage; Generalist: eves, nights and days; Shift differential for off tours!
