The Division of Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois at Chicago seeks a full-time Pediatric Geneticist to serve as Division Chief. The division is seeking candidates who have demonstrated scholarship, education, clinical practice, and leadership skills. Regional or national recognition is expected. History of service or research project funding is desirable but not essential. Rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
The Division provides in-patient and out-patient coverage in the Children’s Hospital University of Illinois (CHUI) and at satellite clinics. CHUI is a hospital within the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System and is the primary teaching hospital of the University of Illinois at Chicago and includes all pediatric medical and surgical sub-specialties. Current division staffing includes three geneticists, three genetic counselors, and three dietitians, as well as strong collaboration with Pathology Laboratory. Participation in the educational program for residents, fellows, nurses and medical students is essential. There is excellent opportunity for teaching and clinical and basic sciences research.
Doctor of medicine degree from an ACGME accredited medical college. Unrestricted Illinois license to practice medicine or Illinois license eligible. Board certification in Clinical Genetics and Pediatrics is required. Board certification in Biochemical Genetics is preferred but not essential.
