The Division of Genetic Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Washington is recruiting three academic clinical geneticist pediatricians at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, without tenure in the Clinician Educator series. Responsibilities will include patient care (inpatient consultations, outpatient genetics clinics, regional clinics throughout Washington and Idaho, multidisciplinary clinics) and teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities will be available for clinical research and collaboration with physician/scientists in the Seattle Children’s Research Institute and basic scientists in the Department of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington. Clinical services in the Division are currently provided by thirteen clinical geneticists, seven genetic counselors, and one nurse practitioner. These positions will offer unique opportunities to expand clinical services, coordinate existing programs, and develop new programs in medical genetics. Two of the positions will have leadership roles within the division to build the inpatient and outpatient services.
University of Washington faculty participate in teaching, research and service. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
